About the company
Our client is a dynamic startup in the Biomedical sector with secured funding and is looking to grow the team that will help the company achieve its ambitious goals. The company is based in Thessaloniki, with branches in Europe and the USA.
The position
The Business Development Officer (BDO) is responsible for overall leadership and supervisory management of local operations with a strong focus on sales and business development. Coordination of resources, system quality, accountability, and performance management.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Oversee and execute business development in field sites, Romania, Bulgaria and Eastern Europe
Interact with affiliate organizations in a hands-on collaboration, such as health and biomedical clusters
Report to Chief Business Development Officer (CBDO) regarding sales strategy, quality and external networking
Ensure full compliance with agreements and with statutory and technical legislation issued by appropriate government authorities and international standards
Work closely with marketing managers to identify needs and take the lead in implementation
Advise senior management about strategic directions and issues affecting project implementation, or key local issues affecting future projects
Maintain open and professional relations with team members, promoting a strong team spirit
Manage subcontractors supporting the operations and maintenance of systems
Develop branch budget and managing expenditures
Manage all aspects of the contract with local biobanks and the secondary target markets
Qualifications & Competencies
4-5 years minimum experience working in the biomedical and/or biotechnology sector
Proven experience as an efficient and effective senior business developer
Strong technical background in biomedical IT systems and/or biobanking services
Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Bioinformatics or related discipline or demonstrated equivalent combination of education, training and experience
Master’s degree in Management or related disciplines (MBA)
Multilingual (Romanian, English mandatory - Bulgarian, Serbian, Spanish or French optional)
Solid ability to provide team-building, coaching, and development for staff as well as encourage cross-functional collaboration and cooperation
Solid organizational and coordination skills, with a KPI focus
Set goals and objectives and meet the schedule
Exhibit confidence and positive attitude
