About the company


Our client is a dynamic startup in the Biomedical sector with secured funding and is looking to grow the team that will help the company achieve its ambitious goals. The company is based in Thessaloniki, with branches in Europe and the USA.



The position


The Chief Busines Development Officer (CBDO) focuses on improving sales and growth, which means more biobanks affiliated per country, either in the public or private sector, as well as secondary client categories, such as healthcare providers, diagnostic facilities and generally entities that manage human biosamples.



Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Direct, organize and execute the sale cycle

  • Coordinate and help shape the overall business vision and customer base

  • Work with other executives to determine sales direction and market approach

  • Work closely with the sale representatives to develop plans and strategies for acquiring new customers, access business opportunities and be responsible for coordinating sales forecasts and keeping a close eye on customer accounts

  • Cooperate with the CFO on budgets and costs, and with the CEO to determine and audit company's goals

  • Innovate, develop new strategies, and drive creativity and inventiveness within the organization’s business development strategies

  • Create and track a sum of prospective partnerships worldwide including biobanks, healthcare providers, pharma companies, biotechnology companies, research centers and patient organizations

  • A firm understanding of the biobanking, health and biomedical related markets and industry dynamics

  • Ensure that the company meets revenue targets




Qualifications & Competencies


  • At least 5 years of business development experience at a high level

  • Experience in B2B finance, financial literacy, and/or community development preferred but not required

  • Understanding of biotechnology, health and health-related market and industry dynamics

  • Demonstrable competency in strategic planning and business development

  • BSc/BA in Business Administration or relevant field; MSc/MBA

  • Multilingual (English mandatory and Spanish or French optional)

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and management skills

  • Exceptional negotiation and decision-making skills

  • Effective communication skills and excellent sales skills

  • Strong business acumen and passionate commitment to achieve financial goals

  • Exceptional relationship building and interpersonal skills

  • Strong staff management skills, with the ability to foster a sense of team accountability and high performance

  • Proven ability to inspire, coach, and influence direct reports, senior leaders, board members and staff
